The Mountain Meadows Charitable Trust under its health and well being division "Living Choices" runs a emergency food bank and some pop-up mobile food banks.

Our food bank operates in the Waimakariri area of Canterbury New Zealand. (Please note: we do not deliver to Christchurch)

Mobile pop-up food bank

At the moment we operate two mobile pop-up food banks. One in Rangiora and one in Woodend.

These pop-up run every Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30pm. (see our schedule for details)

Anyone is able to come to these pop-up and take items to help themselves or their family. No questions asked.

Emergency food bank

We also run a emergency food bank service where people can apply for an emergency food pack on this website (see below) or by calling us on 03 313 1967.

If you are accepted for a emergency food pack and live in a area we visit, we will deliver the emergency food pack directly to you.

We deliver emergency food packs every Wednesday.

Once approved you will be contact to arrange a time to deliver. So you must be contactable.

If you have a URGENT need for a emergency food pack, We can deliver anytime between 8:00am and 5:00pm, but you need to be contactable. If we cannot contact you. We will not deliver.

Please note:

 
  • You must be contactable by phone, txt or email. If we can not contacted you we can not deliver!
  • Our policy is that we can provide up to 3 emergency food pack every 6 months. If you already have received 3 emergency food pack from us please email us or give us a call 03 313 1967

  • We are based out of Rangiora. We only deliver in the Waimakariri area of Canterbury New Zealand. 
  • If you are outside the Waimakariri area and want a emergency food pack then contact a foodbank within your area.
    We do not deliver or supply emergency food packs to Christchurch.

Special dietary foods are prepared separately to reduce the risk of contamination.

We also provide a range of other grocery/household items. (contact us for more information)

We bring the food to small and large towns (see our schedule for details).

There is no meat given in food parcels but there are meat alternatives given instead.

When you receive a food parcel we will also offer recipes that uses food within that parcel.

At each of the places we visit, you are welcome to come and sit-down with us and have a chat
